What We Do
Our Roles
There really are too many activities to mention; they all require a great deal of background work that is traditionally shared between clerks, council members and volunteers. Good council work is truly an inclusive community effort.
We Own and Maintain...
the cricket and playing fields, three bus shelters, the Winston Churchill Memorial Shelter, the roadside benches and the children’s park .
We Own and Manage...
the allotments the Cenotaph including repairs, the village hall and encourages its use e.g. voting days, yoga, education and parties.
We Hold Events such as...
11 full Council meetings and 11 village hall committee meetings each year all of which are open to the public. We also hold an annual Christmas Lunch and entertainment for over 60’s residents as well as many other local events...
What We Do
Our Responsibilities
We are in charge of carefully managing the Precept.
We Act As...
A forwarding agency, directing queries / problems to authorities, such as District and County Council etc. And also as consultee on planning applications relating to the Parish. We also liase with LCC on Public Rights of Way and Bridleways.
We Assist Residents by...
helping to clean up our village and collect litter. We also help residents, where possible, with their queries. We also update the FPC website and keeps residents informed via Facebook.
We Raise Money For...
for local and national causes. We also provide the Christmas tree and maintain most of the grassed areas in our village.
Councillors
Elected body of volunteers which have a variety of powers and duties to serve the local community.
Meetings & Minutes
The Council meets once a month in the Village Hall, Parkinson Street, Foulridge BB8 7PS, and the public are welcome to attend
Projects
The Parish Council aim to improve the local community with specific Projects and Developments.
ACCOUNTS
The Parish Council maintains open records of the Accounts, Annual Budget and Audit reports.
